Public Involvement

The Navy completed a 30-day public scoping period on February 24, 2020. Additional opportunities for public participation will occur after the publication of the Draft EIS in Summer 2020.

The Navy will use a variety of communication methods to ensure the public is kept aware of progress on the project and opportunities to be involved. To add your name to the mailing list to receive notification when the Draft EIS is released for review, please click here or on the Mailing List button below. The Navy also has a project phone number ((888) OTC-NAVY / (888) 682-6289) for any questions or requests. Please note this is a recorded line, but your call will be returned within approximately two business days.

    The Navy published a Notice of Intent (NOI) to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) in the Federal Register. The 30-day public scoping period ran from January 24, 2020 through February 24, 2020.

    NAVWAR Revitalization Industry Day

    In support of NAVFAC Southwest's industry Request for Interest, the Navy hosted over 200 people from 80 different companies for a support for the Navy and for NAVWAR’s Industry Day presentation. Congresswoman Susan Davis and Congressman Scott Peters kicked off the events with comments on their support for the Navy and NAVWAR's project. The City of San Diego presented an overview of the recently approved Midway Pacific Highway Community Plan. The Navy presented detailed information on the OTC sites, Navy requirements and information sought. The end of the presentations was followed by a walking tour of the OTC site.
